A unique tool and methodology to become a “SOA People Consultant”

Considering the ambitious growth objectives, SOA People needs to ‘structure’ and ‘organize’ a professional approach to welcome and train new employees for their future jobs, as well as having a permanent offer for existing employees to allow a continuous skills development.
This dedicated structure is named:

Delivered by dynamic and experienced teachers, our professional skills’ training encompasses an interactive environment focusing on all topics of the ‘Consulting Job’.
These topics are structured in 2 areas:
- Hard Skills: that includes Business Process skills and SAP Products skills
- Soft Skills: that includes Project Management skills, Communication skills (presenting, facilitating, negotiating & influencing)
SOA People intends to launch an academy each quarter to train 15 to 25 new employees on different areas of SAP Consulting.
Get in 6 months what you’ll get in 2 years at others
The planning is similar for each academy:

Phase I – Recruitment
SOA People conduct on a permanent basis an intensive search and careful recruitment process to attract talented people in our organisation.
Phase II – Training sessions
This is the initial training period (from 1 to 2 months depending on the subject of the Academy). Starting with a ‘Welcome Day’ (and of course, the traditional ‘Welcome Evening’ !!!), this period is the most intensive for our ‘Trainees’…
New employees are trained on ‘Hard Skills’ (mainly SAP product) and on ‘Soft Skills’ by our experts, all of them having, in average, 10 years of experience. Training sessions are punctuated by experience sharing, case studies and continuous evaluation.
During this period, several customers will also visit the ‘Trainees’ in order to share with them what are their expectations, as customers, towards a consultant. This is for us essential that our future ‘consultants’ get in touch very early, and in full transparency, with our customers (thanks to them for the support) and have the possibility to listen and ask for all questions they would have about their future jobs.
At the end of phase II, an internal ‘Certification’ is organised to validate the acquired knowledge and to measure the level of each ‘trainee’.
Phase III – Incubation period
At SOA People, we don’t consider as ‘confirmed consultant’ a person that has 2 months of SAP Training, even when talent and hard work is present.
We also don’t want to stop the ‘education’ of our ‘trainee’ after 2 months…
Our commitment to each of new employee is to support him/her in their way to become a ‘professional Consultant’, as expected by our customers.
That’s why, for a period between 4 to 6 months, ‘Trainees’ will be in the ‘Incubation period’. During this period, the employee will be either be integrated to existing project team to support SOA People consultants in their daily tasks, either be directly assigned at a customer to gain practical experience under the supervision of the customer, acting as partner of the SOA People Academy.
Before the end of the incubation period, the official SAP certification is organised (but, don’t worry, if you pass the internal certification, you’ll succeed this one as well !), which formalize towards the market, your level of expertise.
At the end of the incubation period, if successful, the consultant will leave the Academy and join one of the ‘Competence Centre’ in the company. This is the phase IV.
To mention as well, all Academies are organised in a single location for all participants, enabling therefore our employees, coming from different subsidiaries, to build their internal network which is so important to become a real team-player when working for our customers.

Beyond this ‘transparency’, there is also a direct benefit for the customers if they commit to use one or several ‘trainees’ on their projects once the academy is terminated.
