Major areas to focus on projects to guarantee a full success
SOA People has reviewed the ASAP methodology identifying key tasks and deliverables in each of five implementation phases and providing accelerators for each team members on a project.

To ensure the quality and the efficiency for your go-live, SOA People puts a particular focus on the following major milestones:

  1. Unit and Integration tests
  2. End-Users Training
  3. Data Migration from legacy systems
  4. Reporting
  5. Support after Go-Live

Unit and Integration tests

What a crucial and exciting phase! This phase will aim at controlling the conformity of the solution. Are the business process flows tested from end-to-end? Are they tailored to your needs?

To achieve these objectives, our approach is based, above all, on close definition of a convincing set of business process flows with our customers. They might be independent tests or a series of tests that follow each other, each dependent on the output of the previous one. The ideal test scenario must have 3 attributes:

  • The test must be realistic (and therefore credible).
  • The test must be complex. It combines two or more features (or inputs or attributes—two or more things that we could test separately) and uses them in a way that seems as though it should be challenging for the program.
  • The test has to be tested easily to avoid shortcuts which can be imperfectly accurate (that is, they may miss obvious bugs or they may flag correct code as erroneous)

End-users training

For a successful implementation, the user preparation is essential!

If you want to see a rapid ROI on your SAP investment, you should not haggle over the means to organise training sessions. Neglecting trainings would most probably lead you to a going beyond in time and budget.

To help ensure your success, SOA People proposes you experienced consultants fully dedicated to supporting your company with deep and user friendly documentation – a large variety of customized exercises throughout the business lifecycle for all your users (end users, key users and casual users).

Transferring their SAP knowledge, SOA People consultants give skills and tools to your employees to perform daily operations and to become confident with the system in executing operations effectively. Our consultants use creative and interactive methods so that your users are as quickly as possible efficient in their tasks.

Data migration from legacy systems

Data migration is a tactical phase! A good preparation in terms of planning and design of qualitative data will consolidate you in the choice of your SAP application.

Since the process of moving business data is far to be a standard or pre-customized process, our technical consultants are expert in the analysis of your current systems to appropriate the environment.

To achieve a good result, SOA People consultants will follow a sequential process to identify source data, analyse the target and estimate the effort required. Finally, they will design sample data models and develop tailored programs to take over the data efficiently.

Reporting

There are not only words! Reporting represents a constant activity in the project process.

Reporting involves collecting and disseminating relevant information in order to provide stakeholders with information about how resources are being used and what resources are carrying out to achieve project objectives. SOA People reporting process includes:

  • Status reporting which describes where the project now stands.
  • Progress reporting which describes what the project team has accomplished.
  • Forecasting reporting which predicts future project status and progress.

Support after Go-Live

By experience, an ERP Go-live represents a great thrill. It's an exciting, confusing and difficult phase all at the same time.

SOA People use the go-live date as its primary milestone and key measure of success.

Indeed, SOA People focus on the effect the new system has on your organization.

The questions which always remain in our spirit are:

  • “Are people using the system effectively?
  • Is the software making the business more efficient?
  • Is it adding value to the organization?”.

Our team will support your employees to face the time of cut-over and to manage the changes in your company processes. It is important to put in place a solid user support program.

In addition, SOA People provide tools, such as cheat sheets and training documentation which will make employees more comfortable with the system quickly. Refresher training should also be provided on an on-going basis.
