During the recent VNSG & SAP annual event #SYNC, SOA People, together with Promocean, was the audience favourite and selected as the winner of the SAP BTP Hackathon.
The hackathon brought together SAP customers and partners to work on real-life business challenges using SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). From a wide range of submitted use cases, six were selected to participate, with three finalists presenting their solutions live during the event’s DemoJam on the main stage.
Following a live audience vote, the solution developed by Promocean and SOA People was chosen as the overall winner.
What made this hackathon particularly unique was its focus on real-world applicability. Within a limited timeframe, teams were challenged to translate business needs into working solutions using SAP technology.
Our winning solution focused on applying AI within SAP-driven processes, demonstrating how unstructured input can be interpreted and translated into concrete, actionable steps within the system.
This approach reflects a broader shift seen across organizations, where the focus is moving from experimentation with AI towards practical implementation and integration into core business processes.
A key factor in the success of the hackathon was the close collaboration between different stakeholders within the SAP ecosystem.
By bringing together:
the hackathon created an environment where ideas could quickly be turned into tangible solutions.
While winning the hackathon is a great recognition, it also highlights a broader development in the market. Many organizations are exploring AI, but often struggle to move beyond pilot phases.
The solution developed during the hackathon illustrates how a focused, pragmatic approach can help bridge that gap, starting with a concrete use case and scaling from there.
SOA People will continue to build on these insights, working with customers to translate AI opportunities into real, scalable SAP solutions.
Building on the momentum of the hackathon, SOA People will further share its experience and approach in upcoming sessions and events, together with SAP and the broader community.
One of these moments will be an upcoming session at the SAP Experience Center(tbc) on June 4, where we will dive deeper into how AI can be applied in real SAP processes and how organizations can move from idea to implementation.
