Demonstrating value of an SAP S/4HANA migration to your business users
The IT and Telecommunications Service SITel is the specialised IT service for the State of Fribourg in Switzerland, a public services organisation with 18,000 employees.
With nearly 10,000 workstations, 8,000 telephones and a high-performance telecommunications network, its main function is to drive information flow from government departments and its partners while ensuring the security of data assets. SITel is undertaking a digital transformation so it can create and develop services for businesses and individuals in tourism, health, training, transport, justice, police, agriculture and administration.
SITel wanted to give the population of Fribourg access to new digital technologies to meet the demand for services such as building permits, e-voting and access to electronic patient records. The cornerstone of its digital strategy was the transformation of the public services organisation’s SAP platforms, which would standardise technology, reduce the amount of software it used and enable a move to SAP S/4HANA. Its existing SAP ECC6 system had complex configuration, many custom codes and was reaching end-of-life.
Migrating to SAP S/4HANA would extend the capability of its ERP and provide the necessary agility to integrate the latest innovations. But to do this the organisation needed to define and demonstrate these reasons to business users in order to obtain their support and the necessary resources.
“To ensure maximum control of this migration, SITel wanted to involve the lines of business and provide them with factual data on the value and expected benefits that the new version of SAP would bring them”, says Patrick Ebel, Head of Applications Section of SITel - State of Fribourg - Switzerland.
“PERFORMER brings a unique value proposition to the market, bringing together within one application a very powerful data analysis engine and an automated consulting approach, with very high added value. This first step undoubtedly validates the broader use of PERFORMER by SITel for a global continuous improvement approach”
