The TPG asset maintenance organisation is responsible for vehicles, customer infrastructure and buildings, as well as vehicle infrastructure for the canton of Geneva. Keeping buses and trams in service while managing maintenance is a complex operation that requires a high level of coordination between technicians and field resources.
Having already used SAP for other processes, TPG chose SAP Plant Maintenance and SAP Materials Management for its CMMS. But with limited resources available to technically streamline the solution and enable the change management required to move employees from manual to digital processes, TPG partnered with SOA People to optimise and deploy the solution across the company. SOA People focuses on strategic consulting, SAP technical and configuration work, change management and data management.
With reliable, real-time data, TPG will benefit from improved reporting and analysis, while the ability to monitor and measure key performance indicators will enable it to deliver optimal maintenance performance. Digitising the entire maintenance organisation will reduce the need for manual processes, speed up and simplify planning and scheduling, and improve communication between departments.
David Boccard, Business Analyst at TPG, says: "Working with SOA People to bring digital efficiency, simplicity and optimisation to our asset planning and maintenance processes with our limited resources will help us achieve our main objective. “ He emphasises, "The relationship with SOA People provides us with a unique opportunity to work with a trusted partner who has proven credentials in SAP technology and the asset maintenance field, as well as good experience in the public transport sector.“
Hervé Voilquin, Managing Director of SOA People Switzerland, added: "Our expertise in SAP and asset management is perfectly suited to TPG and will help them overcome their maintenance challenges and speed up processes. The experience we have gained in the public transport sector, notably with Luxtram, not only demonstrates our capabilities but will benefit TPG as they prepare to fully roll out their digital maintenance solution. We look forward to helping TPG on their digitisation journey to make maintenance and planning a more streamlined and efficient process."
