      SOA People supports TPG’s maintenance digitisation programme in SAP

      As part of a public tender, Transports Publics Genevois (TPG) has chosen SOA People to provide consulting, expertise and change management services to optimise its planning and maintenance processes in SAP for its transport assets.

      For over 100 years, TPG has grown to become a major player in transporting the population of Geneva and its surroundings, operating trams, trolleybuses and buses. To make it easier for passengers to use a single ticket to travel on the region's various public transport services, TPG shares a common fare system with other services, including the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), the French SNCF and the passenger ferries on the lake.

      The TPG asset maintenance organisation is responsible for vehicles, customer infrastructure and buildings, as well as vehicle infrastructure for the canton of Geneva. Keeping buses and trams in service while managing maintenance is a complex operation that requires a high level of coordination between technicians and field resources.

      Solution

      Having already used SAP for other processes, TPG chose SAP Plant Maintenance and SAP Materials Management for its CMMS. But with limited resources available to technically streamline the solution and enable the change management required to move employees from manual to digital processes, TPG partnered with SOA People to optimise and deploy the solution across the company. SOA People focuses on strategic consulting, SAP technical and configuration work, change management and data management.

      With reliable, real-time data, TPG will benefit from improved reporting and analysis, while the ability to monitor and measure key performance indicators will enable it to deliver optimal maintenance performance. Digitising the entire maintenance organisation will reduce the need for manual processes, speed up and simplify planning and scheduling, and improve communication between departments.
